Character History: Mario's life began with his and his brother, Luigi's, delivery to his parents by the stork... or that is, it would have, if the stork hadn't been intercepted by the Magikoopa Kamek, who foresaw the trouble Mario would give to Kamek's master, the (at the time) young King Bowser. However, while Luigi was taken, Mario fell down to Yoshi's Island, where he was rescued by the clan of Yoshis living there. Together, Mario and the Yoshis began a quest to defeat Kamek and Bowser, and rescue Luigi. After they succeeded, the children were at last united with their parents.
Some time later, baby Mario and Luigi were again taken from their parents due to Kamek's machinations, as part of the wizard's attempt to locate the legendary Star Children... children who would be capable of great accomplishments later on. This time, they were again aided by Yoshi, who also rescued Princess Peach, the infant heir to the Mushroom Kingdom throne, the ape, Donkey Kong, and the mischievous infant Wario. They were revealed to be the Star Children of legacy, along with a baby Yoshi that hatched after they defeated Kamek, the infant Bowser, and his time traveling older incarnation.
Mario would have another adventure as an infant (which involved complicated time travel) that united him with his older self against an enemy called the Shroobs. Both Luigi's were part of this adventure as well. After this, the Mario Bros. And their family moved (somehow) to Brooklyn in another world, and Mario aged to adulthood without any memory of his adventures in Mushroom World.
Mario first attempted to be a carpenter, and later came into possession of an ape called Donkey Kong (who was in fact either the grandfather of the gorilla who had adventured with him on Yoshi's Island). He opened a small circus centered around the ape, but his mistreatment of the gorilla angered Donkey Kong. He escaped, and kidnapped Mario's then girlfriend Pauline, forcing Mario to rescue her. After defeating Donkey Kong, Mario attempted to imprison him again, this time in an island jungle, only for the ape to be rescued by his son, Donkey Kong Jr. Mario ran off, and left Donkey Kong to his own devices from then on.
Donkey Kong took up residence in this jungle, which would later become known as Donkey Kong Island (Donkey Kong became known as Cranky Kong, while his grandson assumed the Donkey Kong mantle). Meanwhile, Mario learned the error of his ways, and transformed from the cruel master he'd been into the charming, affable hero he would become known for. He and Luigi later went into the plumbing business together, and eventually battled monstrous beasts within the sewers. Through this, and Mario's encounters with Donkey Kong, Mario developed a taste for adventure, and desired a new kind of life. He got it when he and his brother were accidentally sucked down a drain – which was in fact a Warp Pipe – and deposited back into the Mushroom Kingdom.
The Mushroom Kingdom was in disarray, as Princess Peach had been kidnapped by King Bowser. Mario embarked on a quest to rescue her, dragging Luigi along for the ride. Together, they defeated several false Bowsers and then Bowser himself, saving Peach for the “first” time. Later, he, his brother, and his newfound friends were pulled into the dreamworld of Subcon, where they battled the evil Wart to emerge back into the waking world. Later still, they saved Peach from another kidnapping, as well as restoring the kings of seven lands in the Mushroom World back to normal from the state Bowser and his eight children had placed them in. Somewhere amidst these quests, Mario journeyed to Sarasland to free Princess Daisy from the clutches of the alien Tatanga, and then had to defend his home from his childhood companion Wario, who had used the invasion of Sarasland as part of complex plot to take over Mario's home.
In their next adventure, Mario, Luigi, and Peach journeyed back to Yoshi's Island, which was in turn part of Dinosaur Land. Peach was kidnapped again, and in the process of rescuing her, Mario teamed up with a Yoshi – who was in fact the grown-up form of the young dinosaur who had hatched as one of the legendary Star Children. Together, they liberated Dinosaur Island, rescued the rest of Yoshi's kind, and saved Peach.
The number of adventures that followed are too numerous to name. Mario went on to defeat the interdimensional villain called Smithy, brought harmony to the worlds contained in the paintings inside Princess Peach's Castle, reclaimed the legendary Star Rod, defeated the Shadow Queen that slept below Rogueport, and traveled between dimensions to stop the destructive power of the Chaos Heart. He has been forced to rescue Peach numerous times, participated in multiple sporting events and celebrations, and has even ventured into the far reaches of space to save the universe from Bowser's machinations. His many deeds are too numerous to name. Mario has even been reunited with Pauline and has battled the third Donkey Kong on several occassions.
Recently, he has transcended worlds, and battled on behalf of the being called Master Hand on no less than three occasions. In the last adventure, he joined forces with heroes from other worlds to defeat the being called Tabuu and his sub-space army. His many friends and allies stretch across many worlds, and it could be said that there's just about nothing that Mario hasn't seen or done.
His next adventure lies in the Digital World.
Mario Personality: Mario is the quintessential hero. He's an everyman in all respects but one, and that's his seemingly insurmountable ability to overcome the greatest of odds. He's warm, friendly, and excitable, as well as a man of few words. Since coming to the Mushroom Kingdom, he's seen most of his greatest desires realized, and has thus become a man of simple tastes. Mario is also astereotypical typical Italian, and his mannerisms and speech are peppered with Italian inflections. There was a time where he was cruel and mean-spirited, but it seems that side of him was beaten out of him by Donkey Kong and his son.
Toadmon Personality: Toadmon is Mario's digimon partner; a new species that was apparently brought into being when Mario entered the Digital World. His traits are similar to the toads that live in the Mushroom Kingdom. He is loyal to a fault, but also something of a loudmouth and a crybaby. His personality tends to become more mature when he evolves, though.
Mario Abilities: Mario has many abilities, but most of them are just skills using his own nature abilities. He has a number of special techniques, including the Mario Tornado and the Ground Pound, among others. He is also armed with his wooden hammer and FLUDD, an intelligent water cannon that was developed by Professor E. Gadd. Using Toadmon's many abilities, he can also assume a number of transformations. Lastly, he is in possession of the Standard MR, a racing Go-Kart that he has stored in his D-Reader.
Toadmon Abilities: If not for his myriad of abilities and evolutions, Toadmon wouldn't be much use in a fight. He can generate a giant mushroom to block his enemy's attack, which in turn delivers a burst of destructive spores upon contact. He can also generate items native to Mario's world, including a Super Mushroom, which causes whomever eats it to double in size, a Fire Mushroom, an Ice Mushroom, a Bee Mushroom, a Cape Feather, a Raccoon Leaf, and on very rare occasions, a Hammer (which turns Mario into Hammer Mario) or a Tanooki Suit. Anyone, and not just Mario, can reap the effects of these items.
